6th string: 3rd fret, 5th fret. 5th string: 2nd fret, 3rd fret, 5th fret. 4th string: 2nd fret, 4th fret, 5th fret.
For the G major scale, use your 1st finger on every 2nd-fret note, 2nd finger on the 3rd fret, 3rd finger on the 4th fret, and 4th finger (pinky) on the 5th fret.
